GOODS TO PAEROA
SEA TRANSPORT USED
RESULT OF COURT DECISION
A new shipping service -between Auckland <and Paeroa has been -inaugurated by Northern Road Transport Ltd., of Paeroa and ion Thursday -last—at 11 a.m. the first cargo of 50 -tons of general bulk merchandise arrived at Ngahiina wharf, Puke bridge, -Paeroa. The cargo is carried on a barge towed by a launch, and this new service has been commenced, by Northern Road Transport Ltd as a result of a decision of Mr Justice Archer of the Transport Appeal Authority the effect
■of which decision is to cancel the right of the transport company to bring a back load from Auckland to Paeroa in a vehicle/ which is licensed to and engage in carrying dairy produce from Ngatea and goods, from /paeroa to Auckland. The vehicle is permitted to carry goods from Paeroa to Auckland but is compelled to return to Paeroa empty. In order to continue to give , service to its customers, the business people of Paeroa, Waihi and Te Aroha, the transport company has decided to operate by sea transport.
