At the July meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council it was decided that the county engineer, Mr E. Hazeldine-Barber, attend the annual conference of the New Zealand Institute of Engineers to be held at Christchurch from February 6 to K), 1951. Mr J. Davies of Hikutaia, who has been an inmate of the Thames hospital for an operation has now returned home. g Mr J. A. Barr has been appointey sole teacher at the Mangatarata school. Mr G. W. Heron, M.A., has been' appointed assistant master at the secondary department of the Ngatea District High School.
