NO INSURANCE
iCOUNTY COUNCIL’S PLANT
TO INVESTIGATE POSITION
Against fire, theft or accident the (plant of the Ohmemuri County Council was not covered by any insurance policy, stated the county clerk, Mr A. A. Jenkinson, at the July meeting of the council.
Mr Jenkinson said that he mentioned the matter so that councillors would know the position and not place the blame on the engineer or clerk should any loss occur. The council was of course covered in respect of third party risk.
The chairman, Mr T. A. Barrett, suggested that enquiries be made ®s to the cost of cover. The cost to the county, he thought, would 1 be about £BO a 'year and if that was thie position the question was whether the county should create its own insurance fund. The 'meeting resolved that the county clerk investigate the position and report at 'the next meet' ing.
