TIROHIA BRIDGE
PIAKO DISAPPOINTED
INFORMATON WANTED
OHINEMURI MAKES REPLY
“This council was disappointed to find that you are not in a position to provide them with the desired information,” wrote the county clerk, Piako County Council, to the July meeting of the Ohinemuri County Council.
The letter was referring to the Tirohia bridge which it was proposed to recondition and the Piako council expressed the hope that the matter should not be lost sight of and that a report would be forwarded by the Ohinemuri council as soon as it was in a position to complete the information required. > , The Piako council had required a full report on the condition of the Tirohia bridge and an estimate of the cost of reconditioning, said the engineer to Ohinemuri County Council, Mr L. E. Shaw. With no bridge carpenter and no staff at present to make
the estimate it was not possible at the present time to supply the information to the Piako council. The engineer of the Piako county had been advised of the reason for the delay in'procuring the information, stated Mr L. E. Shaw, who went on to state that there was suitable timber in the bridge at Mangaiti .and there was difficulty in getting the structure dismantled. Some of that timber could be used for the Tirojiia bridge.
