FIRE BRIGADE
PURCHASE OF TRAILER PUMP
OFFICERS AT COROMANDEL
A resolution was passed at the Coromandel County Council meeting last week appointing Mr T. H. Barrett as superintendent and Mr T. F. Barrett as deputy-superintendent of the Coromandel Volunteer Fire Brigade. The suggestions of the Fire Services Council in regard to finance for the purchase of a • trailer pump were adopted, namely that the. purchase money be provided by a loan.
.Cr F. H. ’Purdom as chairman of the Coromandel-fire committee, asked for particulars and conditions as to the loan suggesting that the term be for 10 years.
It was pointed out that the pump was a most necessary addition to the brigade’s equipment in view of the very poor pressure of water in some parts of the town, particularly in the Toptown area.
