STOCK SALE LAST MONDAY

A medium entry of pigs consisting mainly of stores and breeding sows were keenly competed for at Messrs G. W. Vercoe and Co. Ltd.’s Paeroa sale on Monday and one sow with 'a litter realised £29 while several other sows reached the £2O mark.

There was a good yarding of cattle for which there was a steady demand. They quote:—

Dairies: Good dairy heifers, £lB/10/- to £2O; medium, £l5/10/- to £l7; later, £l2/10/- to £l5; good dairy cows, £l7/10/- to £l9/5/-; medium, £l4/10/- to £l7; later, £ll to £l3/10/-. Cattle: Heavy fat cows, £ll/17/6 to £l’4/5/-; medium, £9/15/- to £ll 10/-; heavy boner cows, £B/5/- to

£9/10/-; medium, £6/157- to £B/-/-; light, £5/10/- to £6/10/-. Potter bulls, £7/7/6 to £l3/2/6. Empty 2 year heifers, £6 to £6/17/-. Small crossbred calves, £4/7/- to £4/18/-. Sheep: Fat wethers to £3/16/9; aged ewes to 35/-; small store lambs to 23/-.

Pigs: Medium porkers, £5121- to £5/6/-; stores, good, £3/5/- to £4/2/-; lighter, £2/6/- to £3/4/-. Sow with litter, £29; sows to farrow, £l7/15/to £2O/16/-; medium, £l3/10/- to £l6 15/-; More backward, £ll/10/- to £l2/15/-. Choppers to £B. Boars to £7.
