The chairman, Mr C. W. Parfitt, and Mr L. E. Smith, acting county clerk, to the Hauraki Plains County Council, Ngatea, attended a conference at Auckland on Tuesday of No. 5 ward of the New Zealand Counties* Association.
Mr C E. Smith, who has been acting? county clerk to the Hauraki Plains County Council has been appointed county clerk as from April 1, 1950. Mr A. E. Mahoney, who has been county clerk, retired from the service of the council as frem March 31 r 1950. *
Mr V. Smith, who until recently r was a member of thp Hikutaia Post Office staff, and is now at the General 4 Poet Office, Auckland, spent a weekend recently with his parents, Mr and Mrs H.
