RESERVOIR FILLED FLOWING OVER THE SPILLWAY t “The rain has filled the reservoir and water was flowing over the spillway,” reported the west water supply supervisor, Mr. I. H. Pentecost, for the period ended February 28 to the March meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council.
“There have been three breaks on the 10 inch concrete main. These have been repaired at night. Water has been off on Friday, February 17 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., on February 24 from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. and again on February 25 from 8 p.m. to 11 pun. On these breaks I have been assisted by Mr. Bradford,” continued the keeper. “One break has been repaired on tlie one and a half inch main and one on the one inch main. During the month service connections have been repaired. I have assisted Mr. Bradford with six breaks on the concrete mains on the east supply. This has been done at night. “An eel caught in the valve had been the cause of water being off along half of Canal road, Waitakaruru for one day, February 14. Inspections have been carried out on Hopau road, Phillips’ road and along part of the main road,” the report concluded.
