UNUSUAL CASE DRIVER PROSECUTED It is not generally known that it is illegal to display more than two headlights on a motor vehicle and for displaying more than two headlights, John Costello Nelson, of Waipaka.Te Aroha, bus driver, was charged at the Magistrate’s Court, Paeroa, on Monday last with having committed that offence.

Mr D. T. Somerville, traffic inspector, explained to the Court that the bus driven by the defendant was proceeding at night displaying two headlights and a fog light, all being alight at the same time. By so acting, said Mr Somerville, the driver had created a strong glare which inconvenienced approaching traffic.

Defendant was convicted and fined £1 with 10s costs.
