HEAVY TRAFFIC
ALLOCATION OF FEES MEETING A DEADLOCK REFERRED BACK TO MINISTER No agreement as to the allocation of heavy traffic fees was reached at the conference of local body representatives held in Hamilton at the end of June last was the information placed before the July meeting of the Ohinemuri County Council in a letter received from the town clerk, Hamilton City Council. The town clerk stated that he had advised the Commissioner of Transport accordingly. The chairman, Mr T. A. Barrett, reported that he had attended the conference. The Matamata county had requested £2OOO as its share of the pool money and it had not been possible to agree to the request, said the chairman, and as a result the matter had been referred back to the> Minister.
