TRAFFIC OFFENCES

SITTING AT COROMANDEL

At a recent sitting of the Police Couit at Coiomandel, presided over by Messrs R. R. Forman and F. IL Purdom, Justices of the Peace, Matawai Tawhanga, labourer, of Colville, was charged with being in charge of a motor cycle whilst, in a state of intoxication. He was convicted and fined £5 and was disqualified from holding a diiver's license for a period of 12 months.

The same defendant was also charged with having no warrant ot fitness and for this was convicted and fined 10s with 10s costs. For having no head lamp a further fine of 10s

with 10s costs was imposed. Defendant was further charged with having no driver’s license and with having no horn on his motor cycle. In each of these last two charges he was convicted and fined 10s with 10s costs.

Hugh William Howell was charged with having no parking lights and for this he was fined 10s with 10s costs. For having no tail light and no warrant of fitness the same defendant was in respect of each offence fined a further 10s with 10s costs.
