LARGE SCHNAPPER CAUGHT EATEN BY ONE MAN Challenging a statement: “ Is it a record? ” appearing in April 13 issue of the Hauraki Plains Gazette and which referred to a 3 ft. 6 in. schnapper, weighing 20 lb., caught at Te Kouma recently, Mr W. N. Selby Newbald of Kuaotunu points out that this weight was surpassed last summer. Mr Joe Davis caught a schnapper at Kuaotunu which was carefully weighed by Mr Selby Newbald at 20} lb. Furtherinore, stated Mr Newbald, it was considered a far greater record that this fish was eaten at one sitting by a resident of Kuaotunu!
