NARROW ESCAPE
CAR IN ROADSIDE DRAIN ACCIDENT AT NETHERTON OCCUPANTS ESCAPE INJURY A narrow escape from serious injury was experienced by four Auckland men on Monday night when their car left the road and ended up in & deep roadside drain on the Hauraki Plains. The party were returning to Auckland after playing a cricket match at Te Aroha, the car being driven by Mr G. R. Grainger of Ponsonby, Auckland. He was accompanied by three passengers. The vehicle left the road at the Peka Peka corner near Mr G. E. Sarjant’s house and ran into the deep roadside drain and under a bridge which was across the drain. Fortunately, neither the driver nor the passengers were seriously injured although the bodywork of the car was considerably damaged.
