FULL-TIME BASIS

MANUAL TRAINING TEACHER

RECOMMENDATION TO BOARD In view of the establishment of the agricultural course at the secondary department of the Paeroa District High School, a recommendation is to be made to the Auckland Education Board that the manual training instructor, Mr W. Ritchie, be placed on a full-time basis instead of spending three days in Paeroa and two in Katikati each week. This was a resolution carried at the March meeting of the school committee, following a suggestion made by the acting headmaster, Mr E. Meyer, in his monthly report.

Mr A.. L. Wrigley spoke highly of Mr Ritchie and said that his knowledge would be valuable in the new agricultural course. The chairman, Mr S. Wheeler, then moved the above resolution which was seconded by Mr Wrigley and carried. A sub-committee to deal with matters relating to this course was set up, comprising’ Messrs L. Marshall, A. L. Wrigley and P. Williams.
