Ashes in Paeroa As a result of a scrub fire which was burning in the foothills of the Colville range near Karangahake last night a quantity of ash fell in Paeroa. In some cases ash of whole fern leaves, which was so brittle that it crumbled st the touch, was deposited on lawns.
