Verran, club captain, endorsed these remarks, adding that “ Paeroa’s loss would be Wellington’s gain.” After the sports on Wedneeday night, Mr Wrigley called everyone to the foot of the grandstand and again spoke of the work Mr Vuglar had done in the club. He had joined as a schoolboy and had worked his way up to winning several Waikato hurdling records, he said. A fountain pen was presented on behalf of the chib. Mr Vuglar replied, thanking Mr Wrigley for his remarks and the club members for their presentation.
