KOPU SHEEP FAIR TOP PRICE £2/9/6 POPULAR PRICES REALISED There was fully the advertised number of sheep yarded at the annual sheep fair held at Kopu recently, reports Messrs Dalgety and Company Limited. The whole yarding met a ready sale and sold at values fully on a par with other centres before a large bench of buyers from surrounding and outside districts. ' Top price of the day was paid by a Waikato buyers for a line of 242 twotooth ewes, which sold at £2 9s 6d, smaller tWo-tooth ewes selling at 38s to 41s. Sound mouth ewes were keenly sought, 6-year-ol<te selling to 32s 6d, medium sorts 18s to 235. Lambs yarded in good numbers met with keen competition, top wether

lambs selling to 28s 9d. Good wether lambs sold for 23s to 26s 6d, medium sorts 18s to 225,' smaller and culled 14s to 16s 6d. Good shorn B.F. lambs sold at 255, medium at 18s 9d. Wethers were yarded in good numbers, close on 900 changing hands ' under steady competition. Fat and forward 1 wethers sold from 38s 9d to 425, forward late shorn 36s Bd, store two-tooth wethers 35s and small 30s Bd. S.D. rams sold freely to 7i guineas. CATTLE SALE HEAVY BACONERS £6/15/Average entries of all classes of cattle and pigs were yarded at the fortnightly Kopu'sale. All classes of stock met a ready sale and a total . clearance was effected at late rates. Beef, penned in average numbers, sold very freely, good cows selling from £lO to £l4 12s 6d; medium, £8 4s to £9 10s; lighter, £7 to £7 15s. Boners and store cows sold under strong competition. Potter bulls sold at firm schedule rates to £ll 2s 6d heavy bulls. A pen of mixed coloured steers, forward condition, realised £l2 16s. All pigs sold freely, heavy baconers

realising £6 15s and medium £5 8s to £5 15s. Porkers, heavy sold from £4 12s to £4 17s; medium, £3 18s to £4 8s; small and unfinished, £3 5s to £3 12s; slips, £2 to £2 ss; weaners, 15s to 225.
