BOWLING CLUB
WORK ON GREEN
INTEREST AT COROMANDEL
A meeting was held in the Coromandel Bowling Club’s pavilion on Wednesday, May 26, when Mrs W. K. Peachey presided. A letter was iead from the Thames club secretary congratulating Coromandel on the reforming of the club. Discussions took place as to the preparation of the green which had gone back during the last few years since the club ceased to function, and the provision of a pavilion. It was decided to hold a series of 500 card evenings in the bowling club pavilion, which the bowlers had kindly loaned for the purpose. It was also decided to hold a paddy’s market in August, to be followed by a dance on the same night, all proceeds to go towards pavilion and improvements to green. A working bee was held on Saturday morning last, when several of the croquet club members’ husbands did some good work in cleaning up the green. The members are all very keen and the club should prove an asset to the town.
