VETERINARY CLUB SURGEON

MEETING AT MERCURY BAY

Mr H. Camp occupied the chair on the evening of May 25, when farmers from all parts of the Mercury Bay district assembled at the Coroglen hall to hear a lecture by Mr J. Robins, surgeon to the Farmers’ Veterinary Club of Ngatea.

Mr Robins gave a long and very interesting address on the latest developments in the use of penicillin for the treatment of mastitis in dairy cows. On most farms a 95 per cent, cure could now be expected. He then answered a large number of questions covering a wide variety of stock ailments.

A resolution that the Mercury Bay Dairy Company be asked to get in touch with the Farmers’ Veterinary Club with a view to ascertaining what service could be provided in the Mercury Bay area w’as unanimously carried.

A vote of thanks to the speaker was carried enthusiastically by acclamation. Mr Robins in reply expressed his pleasure at finding such a large and appreciative audience.
