WEDDING BELLS

HILL -DALLY REV. J. R. NELSON OFFICIATES White lace over satin, cut on attractive slim-fitting lines, was worn by the bride at the wedding in the Paeroa Methodist church on Saturday, of Grace Myrtle, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs G. H. Hill, Tirohia, and Allan Hugh, only son of Mr and Mrs J. T. Dally, Waihi. The frock had a long-fitting bodice, the neck outlined with net, 'bishop sleeves and full skirt falling into a long train outlined with net. The long tulle veil was caught to the head with a spray of orange blossom. The matron of honour, Mrs B. Silvester, of Papatoetoe (sister of the bride) and the bridesmaid, Miss Joan Mathieson, of Paeroa, were frocked alike in becoming pink lace over satin, made on the same style as the bride’s dress but with three-quarter sleeves instead of full-length ones. Their head-dresses were pink net falling from pink and white feather flowers. The bride and her attendants all carried lovely bouquets. The two little flower girls, Beverley Silvester (niece of the bride) and Leoni Foster (the bride’s cousin), looked dainty in white lace over pale pink crepe-de-chine, the full skirts falling from tight bodices trimmed with velvet ribbon bows and Petei Pan collars. They carried charming baskets of flowers.

Accompanying the bridegroom, as best man and groomsman respectively, were Mr W. E. Sexton of Waihi and Mr L. Hill (brother of the bride) of Tirohia.

The officiating minister was the Rev. J. R. Nelson of Waiheke, a former superintendent of the Paeroa Methodist Circuit. He was assisted by the Rev. C. A. Ker (one-time ministerial supply in the circuit). The wedding music and the organ accompaniments to the congregational singing were provided by Mrs J. R. Nelson.

Following the ceremony a reception was held in the Parish hall, the numerous guests being received by the parents of the bride and bridegroom. Mrs G. H. Hill was wearing saxe blue with navy accessories, and with shoulder spray of mixed cyclamens, and Mrs J. Daily’s costume was of black with brown fur coat and shoulder spray of pink carnations. When the happy couple left by car the bride was wearing a brick red suit, black coat and hat, and accessories.
