WOMEN’S DIVISION

COROMANDEL BRANCH MEETS

SUPPORT GIVEN REST HOME

The October meeting of the Coromandel branch of the Women’s Division was held in the St. George’s Hall. Mrs Bouskill presided over a good attendance of members. The meeting opened with the creed. Members stood in silence as a mark of respect for the late Mrs Ecclestone a foundation member of the branch.

Mrs Mannion gave an excellent and interesting report on the Thames Valley provincial meeting held, at Thames, and she was accorded a very hearty vote of thanks. A letter was received stating that a suitable house had been located in Onehunga for the Auckland rest home and that appeals were being made for subscriptions. Members were enthusiastic about raising funds for the home.

It was reported that more parcels had 'been posted to England. Arrangements for the forthcoming show were discussed at length. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Purdom and Tiller.
