PETITION RECEIVED

OWEN STREET IMPROVEMENTS

BEQUEST FROM WHITIANGA

A petition was received from residents of Owen street, Whitianga, atj the Coromandel County Council’s October meeting asking for improvements to be done to Owen street.

Cr. R. A. Simpson said it was a disgrace. It was not a street at all but merely a strip of land with no footpath. No money had been 'spent on that street for years. He thought it was a matter for the grader.

The chairman, Mr E. Deeble, supported the request. The foreman, Mr E. L. Orr, was authorised to carry out the necessary work.
