A “PEEPING TOM”

INCIDENTS AT HIKUTAIA LOOKING THROUGH WINDOW It is reported that on the night of, and prior to, August 30, there was a “ Peeping Tom ” in operation around the Puriri-Hikutaia area. The man has been described as being of particularly tall stature and solid build. Mr W. F. Flooks, of Puriri, alleged that the man had peeped into his window at about 12.30 on the night of Saturday, August 30, and had looked to be “ a pasty piece of work.” He was clad in a short-sleeved black singlet, and made off as soon as he knew that he had beenjseen. Complaints about the matter had also been registered from other members of the community and the police had been notified, but as far as Mr Flooks knew, there had been nothing further to report and the occurrences had not been repeated.’
