SLIP'S IN DRAIN

OFFER BY A SETTLER GOOD RESOLUTIONS ALSO SLIP An appeal to the Hauraki United Drainage Board for assistance in repairing Taylor’s outlet drain was made by Mr J. A. Stewart of Turua to the September meeting of the board. “ I have a little problem that I would like some assistance from you in solving. The drain known at Taylor’s outlet which is also my main outlet, has slipped rather 'badly in two or three places down near the river,” stated the letter from Mr Stewart. “ I started off one day with a shoveland a lot of good intentions, 'but when I saw the extent of the damage the good intentions also slipped' rather badly. If the slips are removed now the damage to the rest of the drain will not be extensive. If you can send a man along for a few days I am willing to lend a hand,” concluded the letter. It was decided that the area members and the foreman meet Mr Stewart and inspect the work.
