RUGBY UNION MEETS

END-OF-SEASON FIXTURE TYPEWRITER DISCUSSED The weekly meeting of the Paeroa Rugby Union was held in the Paeroa domain grahdstand on Monday night. Those present at the meeting were Messrs W. F. F. Faber (chairman), K. 0. McLeish (acting secretary), N. A. McMillan (treasurer), B. A. Kelly, H. E. Verran, R. Harris, R. Todd, E. Hampton, K. Fitz Henry and C. Ricketts. Confirmation of the date (October 4) for the match set down between the College Rifles and a Paeroa senior representative team, was received by the meeting. The time arranged for the game was 2.30 p.m. Further arrangements were made for the end-of-season gala day. Four

senior and four junior teams haw been entered in the seven-a-side con tests. It was decided to present the members of the winning teams wit] souvenir ribbons. The chairman, Mr Faber, raised the question of lending the union’s equip ment to other organisations. ,H< stated that the Paeroa Amateui Athletic and Cycling Club had askei for the loan of the union’s typewriter He was not sure of the union’s view: and he wanted a ruling. Mr Hampton stated that he was not in favour oi lending the typewriter to other organisations. Mr McLeish said that there should be no objection to lending the typewriter provided that it was overhauled before it was returned. Mr Verran voiced objection to the lending of the typewriter, It was pointed out by Mr Todd that if the union were to lend the typewriter it would be without the use of it for some time. If the secretary wanted it during that time it would not he available. The meeting decided that the typewriter should not be loaned to other organisations.
