MEMORIAL PARK COMMITTEE’S MEETING LEVELLING WILL BE EASY At a meeting of the Tsobel Lyon Memorial Park Committee held at Mr A. J. T. Simpson’s residence, recently. Mr Lee reported that according to the contractor the levelling of the park would he quite an easy matter. If permission could be obtained to fill in the old dry water course, the work could be completed in a few days. Mr C. H. M. Simpson reported that, as yet, his efforts to obtain a satisfactory arrangement to divert the water had not been successful. An alternative proposal was put to the meeting and the matter was left to the secretary. There was considerable discussion regarding the memorial gate to be erected in memory of the late Miss Isohel Lyon. Mr A. L. Armstrong and Mr L. V. Smith agreed to interview a craftsman regarding designs and these will be discussed with members 1 of the Lyon family. A row of lawsonianas has been planted on the road frontage of the property.
