WAIWAWA CUP
FOR BEST SPORTSMANSHIP GIFT TO BAY RUGBY UNION Mr H. C. Beynon, of Coroglen, has presented a handsome silver cup to the Mercury Bay Rugby Union. It is to be called the WaiWawa Cup and will be presented each season to the team which shows the greatest sportsmanship. The points to be considered will be loyalty to the captain, conduct on the field, punctuality, adherence to the rules, and the spirit of the game. The Mercury Bay Rugby Union management committee is to decide upon the team to hold the trophy at a special meeting. The decision of the management committee will be strictly confidential and the name of the winning team will not be revealed until the actual presentation of the cup.
