WAIPOUA FOREST
PRESERVATION DISCUSSED COUNCIL SUPPORTS PETITION The question of the preservation of the Waipoua Forest was discussed at the August meeting of the Coromandel County Council, when a letter was read from the Forest and Bird Protection Society. Members of the council were unanimous in their opinion that this forest should be preserved and a resolution proposed by Cr. F. H. Purdom and seconded by Cr. W Hamilton, “That this council gives its full support to the proposal that the Waipoua Forest should be preserved as a national park,” was carried
