CARD EVENING
SERIES AT HIKUTAIA £2/13/- RAISED FOR PLUNKET The first of a series of card evenings in aid of the Hikutaia Plunket Society was held at the home of Mr and Mrs E. H, Bax of Wharepoa recently. There was a good attendance and the sum of £2 13s 3d was raised. The large living room was most attractive with the glowing fire and bowls of lovely daffodils and Iceland poppies. The prizes were won by Mrs A. W. Alley and Mr E. H. Bax. A special prize went to Miss Grace Gibb.
At the conclusion of the evening Mrs A. W. Alley thanked Mr and Mrs Bax for having opened their home for the evening. The ladies present included Mesdames E. H. Bax, A. W. Alley, B. A. Kelly, V. Alley, P. Alley, H. Nisbet, R. W. Lowry, B. Lowry; Misses G. Gibb and I. Lowry.
