INSTALLATION CEREMONY

OFFICERS FOR HALF YEAR

OTHER LODGES REPRESENTED

An installation of officers of the Star of Paeroa Lodge was held at the Civic Hall, Paeroa, last week. A large, gathering of Druids was present, and lodges of the No. 10 district were well represented by officers and members of the Star of Te Aroha, Victoria, and Pride of Waihi lodges. Ngatea Lodge No. 34, of the Taumarunui district, was represented by Past Arch Bro. J. ; C. Pascoe. The visitors were wel- 1 corned by the Arch Druid, who raised | the lodge on the arrival of Bro. J. H. | Beeston, district president, who at- - tended in his official capacity of installing officer. ■ The officers installed were: Arch Druid Bro. C. H. Pascoe, vice Arch Bro. R. H. Ratliff, Inside Guardian Bro. I. Tomich, Arch Druids Bards Bros. S. Matkovich and S. Nichols, vice Arch Bards Bros. W. Wright and R. Shaw. The Master of Ceremonies, Bro. F. Lewis, presented the officers to the district president, and they

were duly installed in their various chairs for the current half year, and congratulated on their appointments. Bro. A. Armour, having completed his term as junior Past Arch, was presented by the district president with a Past Arch collar and a framed diploma, and received the thanks of the lodge for having faithfully fulfilled his duties.

After the close of the the visitors were entertained by the Star of Paeroa Lodge. The following toasts were proposed: The King, Bro. C. H. Pascoe, A.D.; Grand Lodge. Bro. C. H. Pascoe, A.D., replied to by Bro. J. H. Beeston, D.P.; The Visitors, Bro. F. Lewis, M.C.; replied to by Bro. Beeston, D.P. (Waihi); Bro. Finnegan, P.D.P. (Te Aroha); Bro. Finlay, P.A. (Victoria); Bro. J. C. Pascoe, P.A. (Ngahoa).

A special toast to Bro. C. H. Pascoe was proposed by Bro. Beeston, D.P., who referred to the work done by Bro. Pascoe for the lodge. Replying Bro. Pascoe thanked the district president for his remarks, and stated that his work and close association with the lodge had given him great pleasure. He added that he would like to see younger members of the lodge taking office, as that did much to give them a sense of assurance in their everyday life.
