HOCKEY IN HIKUTAIA ELECTION OF OFFICER'S ANNUAL MEETING OF CLUB £>
It was unanimously decided at a meeting held in Hikutaia that as there was a sufficient number of players interested, the Hikutaia Ladies’ Hockey Club, which has been in recess since 19'38, should be revived and Hikutaia affiliate to Paeroa Hockey Association. Mrs Howard Morrison presided and the following officers were elected: — Patron: Mr A. Duncan; president; Mrsi Howard Morrison; vice-presi-dents: Mesdames G. Mudford, F. Bown, W. Hartley, E. Morrison, Messrs P. Sutton and H. Smith; sec-retary-treasurer: Mrs Cedric Murdock; committee: officers and Mesdames M. Morrison and V. Alley, Misses A. Harper, E. 'Smith, H. Innis, V. Alley; delegates to Paeroa Association: Mrs M. Morrison and V. Alley; hon. auditor: Mr A. A. Jenkinson; selector and: coaches: Mesdames Morrison, Alley. It was decided that the club colours be maroon. Mrs Murdock reported that the club’s funds were in a fairly healthy condition, and as these funds had been held in trust since 198'8 for the purpose of assisting hockey, should the game be revived in the district, the meeting decided that they should be used towards the purchase of equipment for new members. Practice will commence as -soon as sufficient equipment is available.
