NETHERTON YOUNG FARMERS FIRST MEETING OF THE CLUB The first meeting of the Netherton Young Farmers’ Club, was held on Monday evening, April 8, Mr Russell Locke presiding. The president and the secretary of the Pukekohe Young Farmers’ Club, Mi’ S. Denize and Mr C. J. Morgan were present. They gave interesting advice for the running of the Netherton Club, and an account of the activities in their club at Pukekohe.
It was agreed that the secretary write to Mr Marshall, principal of Wesley College, inviting him to give a talk on laws of meetings, and debating. Members agreed to issue invitations to school pupils to attend field days and outings, as an encouragement for when they grow older. It was suggested that field day be held at the Alpha By-Products works at a latter date.
During the evening I's new members were enrolled, and Mr E. Clark, Auckland District Pig Supervisor, showed lantern slides, and gaves an interesting talk on pigs, their management, and their feeding. Questions were then asked by the many present, and the Pukekohe visitors were thanked for coming along and helping to make the evening such a success. The meeting closed after a delightful suppex* had been served.
