HARRIERS’ FIRST RUN
SEASON OPENS IN PAEROA
GOOD MUSTER OF ATHLETE'S
Despite inclement weather conditions last Saturday a good muster of harriers took part in Paeroa in the opening run for the 1946 season. The run was held, from the home of Mr F. .Sharp, president of the club. The trail took the competitors over some very difficult country, and considering the state of the ground and it being the first run, a fast pace was maintained throughout the journey. The competitors were divided into two packs, J. McLoughlin leading the fast and T. Sweeney the slow pack.
A. Vesper was the most outstanding runner on the day and simply smothered the opposition in the run home.
Afternoon tea was served after the run. No run will be held on Saturday, May 11, the next run being on Saturday, May 18, when all members and intending members are cordially invited to attend.
