99.5% OF TOTAL STRUCK

“The total current rates collected during the year amounted to £8862/9/3 being 99.43 per cent, of the amount struck. This is the same percentage as last yeai which was certainly a record for this county, and an achievement likely to be exceeded by very few oounties,” stated the report of the county clerk, Mr A. A. Jenkinson, to the April meeting of the iOhinemuri County Council. The report continued: —
4 '‘The arrears collected totalled 1 making a grand total of rates, collected of which equals 100.46 per cent, of the amount struck, a decrease of .82' per cent, on last year. This is expected when the arrears are being reduced each year.
‘Tn . the Waihi, Mangaiti and Komata ridings, and also in the Komata North drainage district the amount of current rates received' total 100 per cent, of the amount struck, and all arrears in the Mangaiti and Komata ridings and the drainage district have been paid. Not one penny is owing for rates in these two ridings.
