BUSY YEAR
CRIPPLED CHILDREN SOC. ANNUAL MEETING HELD OFFICERS FOR YEAR ELECTED The annual meeting of the Thames Hospital District Sub-centre of the Auckland Branch of the N.Z. Crippled Children Society Inc. was held in the Ohinemuri County Chambers on Tuesday, April .30. Mr R. S. Carden presided over a small attendance, there being numerous apologies for absence from members —others no doubt being prevented from attending by the extremely inclement weather.
The annual report (already published in a previous issue) and balance sheet were adopted. The Welfare Officer’s report included the following information: —There are 60 cases on the files; 3'o visits to schools have been made during the year; 100 visits- have been made to attend to individual cases; mileage covered for
the whole area (Thames, Tauranga, Whakatane and Opotiki Hospital Districts) exceeds an average of 1000 miles' per month, including attendance at the monthly meetings of all four sub-centres.
The secretary’s work was given special mention by the president, who said that the volume of work would be indicated by the fact that during the year nearly 100 letters (other than routine ones) had been written by the secretary.
The election of officers resulted as follows: —President: Mr R. S. Carden; vice presidents: Mr E. A. Mahoney (Hauraki Plains), Mr J. B. Beeche (Waihi), Mr iP H.
