PRE-WEDDING PARTY
MTSIS M. FRENCH HONOURED WAITAKARURU evening A very pleasant evening was- spent at the home of Mrs A. French, of Waitakaruru, when a number of friends gave a surprise party in honour of Miss Maisie French, in view of her approaching marriage to Mr E. N. Try re. The evening- was sponsored by the Waitakaruru Church, where Miss French has been the organist, for several years. It was spent in games and competitions, and- a humorous item was given by Mr N. French. The Rev. G. Cramond spoke words of appreciation of the services Miss French had rendered to the church at Waitakaruru, and also made a presentation on behalf of the assembled friend's-. He assured Miss French and- Mr Tryre that their very best wishes went wi':h the gift. The evening was brought to a close with supper served by the ladies.
