SURVEY TO BE HELD
PASSENGER TRANSPORT FARES REPLY TO FARMER'S’ UNION “I have to advise, that the No. 1 Transport Licensing Authority is proceeding to hold 1 a survey of all passenger fares within this territory,” stated the Commissioner of Transport, Mr G. L. Laurenson, in a letter before recent conference of the NothernThames Sub-Provincial executive of the Farmers’ Union, replying to a request for a lowering of fares and an improvement in the services in the district. “This action will take some time, but your representations in connection with your portion of the district will be taken into consideration when the Licensing Authority is dealing with the matter,” continued the letter. '.Mr Laurenson suggested that representations be made with the Licensing Authority when the services' were 'being discussed 1 . Mr N. W. Hedges, of Waitakaruru, was appointed to make representations.
