PAEROA WIN
HIGH SCHOOL CRICKET MATCH WITH WAIHI VICTORY ON FIRST INNINGS The Paeroa District High School visited Waihi District High School to play a friendly cricket match recently. ■Paeroa won the toss and fielded first innings. Snappy fielding l and accurate bowling on the part of Paeroa saw Waihi dismissed in forty minutes for seventeen runs.
iPaeroa. opening batsmen were dismissed rather cheaply, three wickets falling for five runs. The rest of the batsmen playing cautiously compiled a steady score. After luncheon adjournment the succeeding batsmen played steadily until they were 'all dismissed for .191. Waihi commenced the second innings with 215 minutes playing time left. The Waihi captain made a determined effort and only eight wickets fell for 19 runs before time was called, 'Paeroa Avon by 84 runs on the -first innings. •Details:—
