UNUSUAL CREATURE
,TE AROHA RESIDENT’S FIND. FOUND IN MOUNTAIN STREAM A “find” by a Te Aroha resident in a mountain stream above the town has many amateur students of nature speculating wildly. The creature, which is about 15 inches in length and about l-25th. of an inch thick, appears strawcoloured, but on closer examination is found to be lightly spotted. It tapers toward both ends and has no head. It is living in a jar of water and from time to time lifts an end out of the water apparently for air. The finder has stated his intention of sending the creature to a museum for identification and details are eagerly awaited. It will be recalled that recently a water snake was similarly discovered.
