ANNUAL MEETING
WHANGAMATA RATEPAYERS OFFICERS FOR YEAR ELECTED The annual meeting of the W'hangamata Ratepayers’ Association was held) at the port in Mr Willitt’s garage, there being a record attendance. Mr S'. D. Chiles presided) and explained to the members the activity of the association, during the past year. The balance sheet was read) by the secretary, Mr J. B. Jennings and showed a creditable balance. The following officers were elected, for the ensuing year:—Chairman, Mr. Kennedy; secretary, Mir S. D. Chiles; committee, Mrs Dent, Mr T. iShaw, H. Money, L. W, Hunt, L. Maingay, H. Willitt Snr., 'H. P. Ehsor, ,H. Clark, Mrs A. Thompson, Mr McCall. The riding member representing the Thames County Council, attended and) addressed the meeting. The committee later met and partly laid out the work to be done during the coming year. -The regatta committee recommended that the committee of the ratepayers control all sports during the Christmas holidays.
