REHABILITATION
WORK ON PENINSULA
MRS P. J. MURPHY FAREWELLED
The November meeting of the Coromandel Rehabilitation Committee was held in the council chambers. There was a full attendance of members and several applications were dealt with. The committee expressed' concern with the time taken to finalise several applications for loans and a resolution on this matter was forwarded to the Rehabiliation Department. The committee received with regret the resignation of Mrs P. J. Murphy, who is leaving the district consequent upon the transfer of her husband who is to be manager of the Bank of New Zealand at Greytown.
The chairman, Mr E. 'Deeble, in presenting Mrs Murphy with a small token of the esteem in which she was held, spoke of the good work she had done as a member of the committee for the last three years. He said that her counsel and judgment had been most helpful and he trusted that her experience would not be wasted 1 . He hoped she would have an opportunity of continuing the good' work in the cause of the returned soldiers in her new home.
Mrs Murphy suitably replied and' said that she was glad' to have been able to assist in the rehabilitation work and she would leave Coromandel with feelings of regret.
