GIFT EVENING

WHENUAKITE FUNCTION

MISS M. HAMILTON HONOURED Mr and Mrs James Hamilton arranged* a gift evening in honour of their niece, Miss Muriel Hamilton, whose wed'dding took place recently to Mr F. Cowan, a member of the R.N.Z.AjF. The bride-to-be had served as a V.A. at the Ellerslie Military Hospital and other hospitals during the war years’ with distinction and' was' highly thought of by the staff and patients alike. There was a good attendance at the Whenuakite Centennial Hall and Miss Hamilton was the recipient of many lovely and useful gifts. "■ Mr Cowan thanked everyone for their kindness and! good wishes on Miss Hamilton’s and his onw behalf. A lovely supper was 1 served and dancing continued until late in the evening and everyone had a jolly time. , Mrs Rose played the latest “hits” on her piano-accordion.
