PRESENTATION MADE
PTE. M. DAVIS HONOURED Opportunity was- taken at a dance held' in Whitianga recently to extend the usual congratulations and good wishes to Pte. M. Davis who had recently returned after service overseas. In the absence of Mr G. W. Ross (chairman of the patriotic committee), Mr 'Brophy briefly welcomed home the soldier and expressed the pleasure of everyone at his- safe return. He thanked the Popular Girl Contest Committee for the courtesy allowed and presented the usual cheque to Pte., Davis. All joined heartily in singing “ For He’s A Jolly Good Fellow.” Pte. Davis thanked everyone ano said he appreciated the kindness very much. He was pleased to renew old acquaintances-.
