COROMANDEL FAREWELL MRS M. DENIZE 'HONOURED Prior to her departure for Auckland, Mrs Muriel Denize was the guest of honour at a farewell social in St. George’s Hall, Coromandel. The duties of M'.C. were efficiently carried out by Dr. Davidson and a very pleasant evening was enjoyed by all. In presenting Mrs Denize with a handbag and cheque, Rev. Father Fahy and the county chairman, Mr E. Deeble, referred to the high esteem in which Mrs Denize was held all over the Peninsula. Her departure would 'be a grievous loss both to the church and community. While regretting her departure, both speakers on behalf of her many friends, wished her many happy years in her new surroundings. Mesdames Deeble, Fisher and Patterson presented Mrs Denize with bouquets exquisitely made, and Mrs Deeble presented a beautiful shoulder spray. A buffet supper was then served and the sincerity of their esteem and kindly feeling entertained towards the departing guest were eloquently expressed in the manner in which all joined’in the singing of “Auld Lang Syne/’ Among those present were:— Dr. and Mrs Davidson; Mr and Mrs E. Redfern, B. Shandley, J. Lillis, C. McNeil (recently returned)', Misses V. Davies, B. Davis, R. Pepper, J, Deeble, W. Prendergast, M. Lillis.
