ATHLETICS IN PAEROA
PREPARING FOR NEW SEASON PERMISSION TO USE DOMAIN “On behalf of the Paeroa Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club I wish to apply for. permission to use the Paeroa Domain every Wednesday evening for our weekly sports' meeting beginning on October 24,” stated a letter from the secretary of the dub, Mr F. Craig, to the September meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council. “Permission is also requested for the construction of a sand pit at the southern end of the domain,” addled the letter. “We would be pleased if you could cut the grass on the running trade on similar terms' to last season,” concluded the letter. Permission was granted for the use of the domain and the construction of a sand pit conditionally on it being outside the football field. The question of the putting of the running track in order was discussed when the promise of the Paeroa Rugby Union to assist was referred to by councillors.
