HARD-FOUGHT FINISHES
SUCCESSES OF PAEROA HORSES
The success of Paeroa-trained horses and close, hardfought finishes were features of the Ohinemuri Jockey Club’s Spring Meeting held at Paeroa on Saturday. Some good dividends, several over the double figure mark, were paid. The weather was dull but fine and a very large crowd attended. The track was heavy after a week of rain. The sum of £65,887 was passed through the total'isator, compared with £60,764 for the same day last year, an increase of £5123. Arrangements for the meeting were in the hands ot the president, Mr H. Dent and secretary, Mr J. Poland, and the fact that no hitch occurred spoke well for the conduct and organisation for the fixture.
