MAORIS WANT ROAD

TE MOANANUI ACCESS COUNTY COUNCIL OPINION NO REVENUE FROM THE AREA The question of road access by Maoris to the Te Moananui Flat, Paeroa, came up once again at the September meeting of the Ohinemuri County Council, when a letter written by Epiha Ngawiki (secretary to the Ngati Tamatera Tribal Committee) asked permission for a deputation to wait upon the council at an early date, to discuss a resolution on the matter adopted at the July meeting of the council. Lowry, that the Ngati Tamatera Tribal Committee be informed that in view of the fact that no rates- are paid on the property concerned the council regretsits inability to assist in.the matter of legalising the road-
