CHURCH FAREWELL

PRESENTATION MADE MR MALCOLM HONOURED APPRECIATION OF METHODISTS On the eve of his departure for Hamilton, where he has been appointed headmaster of the Forest Lake School, Mr C. W. Malcolm, ex-head-master of the Netherton School, was presented by the Paeroa Methodist Church congregation with a token of personal esteem, and of appreciation of his services for several years as a lay preached in the circuit.

The presentation took place after morning service in the church, and took the form of an envelope containing a bank-note, which was handed to Mr Malcolm, by Mr G. H. Hill (senior circuit steward), with a verbal expression of the members’ gratitude for help received from Mr Malcolm’s pulpit utterances and a tribute to his personal worth.

The presentation was proceded by a similar tribute from the minister of the church, the R'ev. J. R. Nelson. In responding, Mr Malcolm voiced his gratitude not only for the gift, but also for the helpfulness of the congregations who had been his hearers, and the Christian fellowship he had enjoyed in the church.
