PICNIC RACING
CONFERENCE OF CLUBS ASSOCIATION FORMED OFFICERS FOR YEAR ELECTED At a meeting of delegates from eight clubs in the Thames Valley whose activities include “picnic” ni-non-professional horse races, it was decided to form an association of clubs. Delegates present were:— Messrs W. G. Howard, W. T. Rudman (Morrinsville), W. J. Stewart, N. Ferguson (Motumaoho), C. Twining, W. Webber (Te Hoe), P. R. Henry, C. K. Fox (Turua)', C. Swney, D. B. Allison(lWaihou), E. P. Fathers, V. Young, W. Crimmins (Paeroa), N. J. Howie, W. A. Swarbrick '(lKiwitahi), R. J. Schischka (Kopuarahi). The following officers were elected: —Patron, Mi- A. S. Sutherland, M.P.; president, Mr W. G. Howard 1 (Morrinsville)'; vice-president, Mr P. R. Henry (Turua); executive, president, vice-president, Messrs* C. Swney (Waihou), V. Young (Paeroa) and N. Ferguson (Motumaoho). Mr W. T. Rudman agreed to act temporarily as secretary to the association until an appointment was made. It was decided that the executive should draft rules to cover the constitution of the association and submit them to the clubs* for consideration. Various matters relating to race meetings were discussed* by delegates and recommendations made to the executive. The first meeting of the association; executive is to be held at Te Aroha in October.
