♦ FUNCTION AT KEREPEEHI MAGNIFICENT JOB DONE FIVE SERVICEMEN HONOURED The Kerepeehi Hall was well filled at a welcome home held in honour of Cpl. D. Fisher, 'Pte. R. Motion, Pte. G. Fisher, Sgt. R. McMillan and Lieut. T. Falwasser of the Fleet Air Arm. Music was supplied by Mirs* A. P. Innis and Messrs* C.Harvey and <B. Benney. Extras were played by Miss J. Hayes. Mr W. Bailey acted as M.C. t The Monte Carlo waltzes were won by F’sses J. Murray and F. Strong, Miss Z. French and Mr J. McDonald. The cards were won by Mr F. Patterson and D. Hayes. Mr p. G. Pearce in extending a welcome to the boys, stated that he was pleased to welcome them back, especially as they had laid the foundation of the job that was now finished and that when* they started the job it was* against a well-equipped enemy while they did not have enough equipment. They were unfortunate enough to be taken prisoners, after having upheld the tradition of the New Zealand' Division, which had the honour of being one of the world’s best. He thanked them for their splendid effort and wished them every success in their future life. To Lieut. Falwasser who is on furlough he stated that the Fleet Air Arm. had done a magnificent job and wished him every success in the future*. Parcels Appreciated Each boy responded and thanked Mr Pearce and the residents for the hearty welcome accorded’ them and also the Women’s Division and Basketball. Club for parcels* received.
